Maureen Joy Charter School: Why We Teach

As the school year wraps up, it can often be easy to look forward to the summer days spent at the pool, with no bedtime and no alarm waking you up in the morning.  Road trips, hiking, a great tan.  While I can appreciate all of these, and probably look forward to them as much as the next person, it’s also a good time to look back.

It’s been a great year at Maureen Joy, and I am sad to say goodbye as I take this show on the road full-time. Each ending is often the start of something new and exciting, so stay tuned for some exciting updates in weeks to come 🙂  In the meantime, here’s a little video I put together for our end-of-the-year fundraiser, hosted in the brand new renovated school building in the heart of historic Durham.

This is a story I particularly enjoyed telling.  With much appreciation to the extremely hard working students and staff at Joy, who make it all possible.

    100%. Nice opening. I feel like I’ve heard that before… 😉
